Competition Overview

The National Brewers Cup celebrates the art of manual coffee brewing. Competitors showcase their skills in two rounds: a compulsory service using provided coffee and an open service with their own selected beans. The winner represents India at the World Brewers Cup.

Requirements & Rules

Entry Requirements

  • Experience in specialty coffee brewing
  • Knowledge of extraction theory and water chemistry
  • Must bring own brewing equipment for open service
  • Own coffee beans for open service (roasted within 14 days)

Competition Rules

  • Compulsory service: 7 minutes with provided coffee
  • Open service: 10 minutes with own coffee and equipment
  • Three cups prepared for sensory evaluation
  • Presentation and explanation to judges required
  • No pre-ground coffee allowed
