Competition Overview

The National Filter Coffee Championship is a celebration of India's beloved traditional coffee culture. Competitors prepare authentic South Indian filter coffee, demonstrating mastery over the traditional brewing method while paying homage to generations of coffee heritage.

Requirements & Rules

Entry Requirements

  • Knowledge of traditional South Indian filter coffee preparation
  • Understanding of coffee-to-chicory ratios
  • Skill in achieving proper decoction strength
  • Appreciation for cultural significance of filter coffee

Competition Rules

  • Traditional filter equipment must be used
  • Preparation of decoction from scratch
  • Proper milk boiling and mixing technique
  • Presentation in traditional tumblers
  • Time limit: 15 minutes for complete service
