Competition Overview
The National Filter Coffee Championship is a celebration of India's beloved traditional coffee culture. Competitors prepare authentic South Indian filter coffee, demonstrating mastery over the traditional brewing method while paying homage to generations of coffee heritage.
Requirements & Rules
Entry Requirements
- Knowledge of traditional South Indian filter coffee preparation
- Understanding of coffee-to-chicory ratios
- Skill in achieving proper decoction strength
- Appreciation for cultural significance of filter coffee
Competition Rules
- Traditional filter equipment must be used
- Preparation of decoction from scratch
- Proper milk boiling and mixing technique
- Presentation in traditional tumblers
- Time limit: 15 minutes for complete service
